8/20/2010 Slab Leaks in Clay Soil Increasing with August Triple-Digit Temperatures
Slab leaks and foundation failures are on the rise because of unseasonably hot, dry North Texas summer. As clay soil beneath homes here dries out it shifts, often with serious consequences to foundations and buried water and gas lines.

Does It Get Cold in Flower Mound?

When winter temperatures drop into the 20s and 30s – and stay there for days and weeks – even transplanted Northerners agree it’s cold. We can help you make sure your furnace keeps your family warm on the coldest of nights.

Heating Equipment Efficiency and Safety

Logic tells us we will save money by having our home heaters running at top efficiency, but cold weather poses a safety hazard we don’t have in hot weather – dangerous gasses that are byproducts of natural gas combustion.

A crack in the heat exchanger in older furnaces can result in dangerous carbon monoxide gas being circulated throughout your home. New equipment isn’t exempt, either, because other problems can produce the same result, including:

  • Incorrect air/gas mix in burners
  • Improper installation.
  • Improper venting that may cause air to enter the burner from the wrong direction
  • A malfunction in the furnace itself

Here’s what our EPA-certified, factory trained service technicians will do when they tune up your heating system:

  • Check and test safety controls
  • Clean heat exchanger and burners
  • Thoroughly check for cracked heat exchanger
  • Adjust gas pressure
  • Check and adjust pilot operation
  • Monitor furnace cycle
  • Monitor flue draft for safe operation
  • Adjust blower components
  • Adjust heat anticipator settings
  • Adjust air flow for proper temperature
  • Lubricate all moving parts, where applicable
  • Check and tighten all loose electrical connections
  • Monitor voltage and amperage draw on all motors
  • Clean and adjust thermostat

Occasionally we find extremely dirty equipment. In cases of excessive dirt build-up, we will have to make a small additional charge for cleaning.
